The area itself is renowned for it's spectacular countryside offering
miles of woodland, river and canalside walks with abundant wildlife - beautifully
rural and yet only 45 minutes by rail from central London and easily accessible
by car from the M4, M40 and M25 and Heathrow/Luton airports. Also within
easy reach is the City of Oxford and the historic towns of Windsor, Stratford
and Warwick.
The Rising Sun is the perfect setting for a totally relaxing break, away
from the hurly-burly of modern day life. Delicious, well-prepared, imaginative
meals are offered together with a fine selection of traditional 'real' ales
and a short but decent wine list. Old fashioned hospitality, comfort and warmth are the passwords of
The Rising Sun; with such a long tradition there is very little room for
modern day gimmicks. We genuinely look forward to welcoming you to our unique
country inn. If you would like to view the countryside around The Rising Sun, Click here.

How would you like to spend an idyllic few days in the leafy depths of the
Chiltern Hills, staying in a picturesque corner of Olde England, full of traditional
warmth, fine food and hospitality at this historic country inn? Traditional
bed and breakfast is offered in recently refurbished bright and airy rooms,
all with delightful views of the rolling countryside and woods. The house
has stood on this site since the early 1300's and has been a well-known hostelry
called 'The Rising Sun' since 1750, famous in the area for its beautiful,
sylvan setting with many lovely walks in the beechwoods starting from the
front door.
